HOSPITALITY

Pullman Hotel

Pullman Hotel and Resorts has locations all over the world except in North America. The group thought that the hotel brand should expand to Chicago as its first US appearance as the hotel caters to both business and leisure travelers. Chicago is a major hub for a new start-up business and has an international airport, making it a prime location for business travelers. Looking at the site, many hotels have four and five-star ratings and the Pullman brand fits that requirement.  Sen5es was the restaurant that was designed for this specific location, having a menu of four different cultures and the fifth option to have a combination. To cater to a higher-end clientele the hotel has an executive floor located on level twelve comprised of deluxe and luxury suites.

Falling Sky Restaurant

The concept of Falling Sky comes from the stages of a storm: the calm, the storm, and the renewal afterward. The concept also includes the idea of weathering a storm, making sure to include areas of security and enclosure. As one moves through the space, there is a feeling of a storm approaching. The concept relates to sustainability through elements of air, water, and using renewable sources of energy. The airy feeling in the space is created by using furniture and materials that contribute to clean indoor air quality. The restaurant uses a grey-water system to use water in a sustainable way and educate the public about the importance of water conservation.
